The 22-member delegation from the Myanmar Immigration Department reached Teknaf on Wednesday.

The 22-member delegation from the Myanmar Immigration Department reached Teknaf on Wednesday (March 15).
Additional Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner office, Shamsud Douza Nayan, confirmed the arrival of the Myanmar delegation.
The Myanmar delegation is scheduled to sit for a meeting with a Bangladesh delegation led by Cox’s Bazar Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mizanur Rahman.
The visit of the Myanmar delegation aims to verify the list of Rohingyas, taking refuge in Bangladesh, sent to Myanmar.
Verifying the authenticity of children born to the listed Rohingyas throughout their stay in the country will also be discussed.
Meanwhile, experts think a new possibility for the repatriation process is being noticed centering the arrival of the Myanmar delegation.
Nearly 12 lakh Rohingyas who fled to Bangladesh in 2017 in the face of persecution by the Myanmar army are sheltered in 33 camps of Ukhiya, Teknaf and Bhasanchar.
