US envoy Peter Haas to spend Christmas with family in India
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas.
Dhaka, Dec 22 - US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas is now in New Delhi to spend Christmas holidays with his family, said a diplomatic source on Friday.
He, along with his wife, left Dhaka for New Delhi, India on Friday morning.
Airport sources said the Ambassador and his wife left Dhaka for New Delhi by a flight of Vistara at 10:30am.
They had one-way tickets and it could not be known whether they will travel to other destinations from Delhi.
The US envoy is scheduled to return to Dhaka next week.
Haas went on a vacation on November 16 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Amid rumors about his departure from Dhaka, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time said it is a diplomatic procedure to inform the host country through diplomatic channels when any ambassador or high commissioner leaves station, which the ministry does not make public. - UNB
