AKDN Rep. Discusses Education, Climate Change with Adviser

Munir M. Merali, the Resident Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), met with Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at his office on Sunday to discuss key areas of mutual interest, including education and climate change initiatives in Bangladesh.


During the meeting, Merali provided an update on AKDN’s ongoing projects aimed at improving the quality of education in Bangladesh, highlighting the organization's commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible learning opportunities.

In response, the Foreign Adviser expressed appreciation for AKDN’s efforts and emphasized the importance of enhancing the inclusivity of educational programs. He also encouraged the expansion of scholarship opportunities to further broaden access to quality education across the country.

Merali also took the opportunity to acknowledge Bangladesh's leadership in addressing climate change. He commended the government's proactive approach to tackling global climate challenges and reiterated AKDN’s eagerness to collaborate with Bangladesh in advancing climate resilience and sustainability.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong commitment of both sides to work together on education and climate change, marking a significant step toward achieving shared goals of sustainable development and long-term prosperity for Bangladesh.
