Jeddah, 16 January, 2025 - H.E. the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The OIC Secretary-General expressed his hope that this would lead to a permanent and comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression, the return of the displaced to their homes, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces, and the provision of adequate and unhindered humanitarian assistance to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

The Secretary-General called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to implement the relevant UN resolutions on the Palestinian cause, leading to an end to the Israeli occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights, including the establishment of their sovereign independent state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. – OIC News
