A fresh round of discussions between the United States and Russia may take place in Saudi Arabia later this week, according to reports from CNN, citing anonymous sources.

Officials from the US administration are expected to meet with both Ukrainian and Russian representatives, though the exact participants in the talks have not yet been confirmed.

US President Donald Trump previously hinted at the possibility of significant discussions in Saudi Arabia, expressing hope for "substantial progress" in resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, US special envoy Steve Witkoff indicated that he hoped to address potential avenues for a ceasefire and peace agreement during a planned meeting with Ukrainian officials in Jeddah on March 11. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed he would not be attending the gathering. Instead, Ukraine's delegation will include key officials such as the head of Zelensky's office, Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

On the US side, the talks will be represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and Witkoff himself.
