Pak PM Invites CA Yunus, Sees Bright Future for Bilateral Ties
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended a warm invitation to Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus to visit Pakistan at his convenience, expressing optimism about a "bright future" for Dhaka-Islamabad relations.
Sharif shared details of the invitation in a post on his verified X account, following a "pleasant telephone conversation" with Dr. Yunus on Monday, during which the two exchanged Eid ul-Fitr greetings.
The Pakistani prime minister emphasized the shared commitment between the two nations to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation in various sectors.
Sharif further highlighted Pakistan's eagerness to hold foreign secretary-level talks with Bangladesh to further enhance diplomatic and economic relations. He also expressed anticipation for the upcoming visit of Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, who will be accompanied by a trade delegation to Dhaka on April 22.
In addition to inviting Dr. Yunus, Sharif also extended an invitation for a cultural delegation from Bangladesh, featuring the legendary singer Runa Laila, to visit Pakistan.
"The future looks bright for Pakistan-Bangladesh ties, Inshallah," Sharif remarked, conveying his hopes for strengthened cultural, economic, and political relations between the two countries.
