The Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay, on Friday praised Bangladesh for its active contributions to CICA and its role in promoting regional confidence-building initiatives.

The remarks came during a meeting with Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 in Turkey.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Türkiye, and other senior officials from both sides were also present at the meeting.

The two sides discussed various aspects of cooperation between Bangladesh and CICA. The Foreign Adviser commended Secretary General Sarybay’s leadership in transforming CICA into a full-fledged regional international organisation.

He also proposed enhancing engagement between CICA and Bangladesh’s sectoral officials, citing it as a key mechanism for deepening mutual collaboration, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both parties agreed to further strengthen existing cooperation and explore new avenues for partnership in the future.
