Bangladesh has called on Slovakia to invest in its growing economy and recruit Bangladeshi workers, particularly in the automotive and other skilled sectors.

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain made the request during a meeting with Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 in Turkey.

He highlighted Bangladesh’s potential as a promising destination for foreign investment and urged Slovakia to ease visa procedures for Bangladeshi citizens. He also invited a Slovak delegation to visit Bangladesh to explore trade and investment opportunities firsthand.

Adviser Hossain proposed that Slovakia adopt the European Union’s ‘Talent Partnership’ model to facilitate the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers across various industries.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Türkiye, and other senior officials from both countries attended the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties based on shared values and mutual understanding. They agreed to enhance cooperation in multilateral forums and boost business-to-business (B2B) engagements.

In response, Minister Blanár expressed interest in deepening economic collaboration and confirmed that a Slovak business delegation would soon visit Bangladesh to explore investment prospects.
