Dhaka Rejects Allegations Linking BD to Murshidabad Violence
The interim government has categorically dismissed any claims attempting to implicate Bangladesh in the recent communal violence in Murshidabad, India.
In a statement to the media on Thursday, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam condemned the attacks on Muslims in Murshidabad that resulted in loss of life and property. "We strongly refute any attempts to link Bangladesh to this violence," Alam said.
He further urged the Indian government and the West Bengal authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and protection of the minority Muslim community.
The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had reportedly been informed of an initial investigation suggesting the involvement of alleged Bangladeshi miscreants in the violence.
