Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday, according to Russian state media, as part of his visit for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) ministerial summit.

The TASS news agency reported that President Xi received Lavrov following a broader meeting with foreign ministers from SCO member states. The discussions between Lavrov and Xi are believed to have focused on regional security, deepening bilateral ties, and coordination within the SCO framework.

Lavrov's visit comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions and continued efforts by Moscow and Beijing to strengthen strategic cooperation across political, economic, and security fronts.
