Canada supports free, fair, inclusive elections in Bangladesh

Canada today reiterated its strong support for free, fair, inclusive and participatory elections in Bangladesh as part of its longstanding commitment to democratic governance and peaceful political transitions.


It was revealed today when the High Commissioner of Canada in Dhaka Ajit Singh met with the leadership of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party. 

During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing political situation and progress towards a peaceful and inclusive democratic transition in Bangladesh.

The High Commission reaffirmed that Canada remains a steadfast advocate for democratic principles and the active participation of all political parties in the electoral process to ensure credibility and stability.
