India’s visa services for Bangladeshi applicants are expected to return to normal shortly, Assistant High Commissioner of India in Sylhet Aniruddha Das said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a views-exchange meeting at the Sylhet District Press Club, he told journalists that necessary steps have already been taken to restore regular operations.
He noted that medical visas and double-entry visas are currently being issued, indicating progress towards full normalisation of the process.
Das highlighted the long-standing cultural and historical bonds between Bangladesh and India, describing the relationship as rooted in shared values developed over centuries.
“We want to work together. Bangladesh-India relations stand on a strong foundation,” he said.
He stressed that people from both countries would play a central role in building a stable, constructive and mutually beneficial partnership in the years ahead.
The assistant high commissioner also assured maximum cooperation in issuing visas, expressing hope that smoother travel would further strengthen ties between the two neighbouring nations.
