Lightning strike kills one in Dinajpur

A farmer was killed and two others were injured after a thunderbolt struck them while they were working in a field in Haripur village of Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur on Monday.


The deceased was identified as Quamrul, 34, son of Dildar Rahman of Bolgari Chandidaspur village in the upazila.

Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, said a thunderbolt struck Quamrul and two others while they were working in the field amid rain at noon, leaving Quamrul dead on the spot and injuring the two others, reports UNB.

The injured were given first aid.
