One killed in Patuakhali lightning strike

A 55-year-old man was killed in a lightning strike at Sonarchar in Char Montaz union under Rangabali upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased, Rafique Majhi, was the son of late Zainal Majhi of Char Anda village.
Belal Hossain, in-charge of the Char Montaz police outpost, said Rafique had gone to graze cattle and collect plastic waste from Sonarchar beach in the morning, reports BSS.
When light rain began, he was sitting in a boat. At that time, lightning struck him, killing him on the spot, he said.
