The authorities have suspended the movement of ships on the Teknaf-St Martin route due to inclement weather.
The administration took the decision as the weather office issued warning signal no 3. No ship left for St Martin on Saturday morning.
More than 150 tourists were stranded on the island.
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Adnan Chowdhury said, "To avert accident, no tourist ship from Teknaf was allowed to go to St Martin.We have also stopped the movement of all types of speedboats and wooden trawlers till further notice. For this, over 150 tourists are stranded here. They will be brought back when the weather is normal."
Law enforcement agencies are asked to keep alert to ensure the safety of the tourists.
