Disaster affected families get corrugated Iron sheets and cash support in Patuakhali.



Patuakhali: At least 18 families affected by natural calamity in Kalapara of Patuakhali received 42 bundles of wave tins, 1 lakh 26 thousand taka in cash and dry food on historical March 7. State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Md. Mohibbur Rahman handed over the aid to the families affected by the natural disaster at the local Sheikh Kamal Smriti Complex auditorium ground around 11 am on Thursday. Kalapara UNO Md. Jahangir Hossain, Municipal Mayor Bipul Chandra Howladar, Upazila Awami League Secretary Bir Muktijodha Abdul Motaleb Talukdar, Upazila Disaster and Relief Officer Md. Humayun Kabir and others were present at the time.

Earlier at 9 am along with the upazila administration and party leaders and workers, the state minister paid floral tributes to Bangabandhu's mural at the upazila administration square. At 10 am, the State Minister spoke as the chief guest at the discussion on the significance of the historical March 7 and award distribution ceremony organized by the Upazila administration.

Under the chairmanship of Kalapara UNO Md. Jahangir Hossain and moderated upazila by Awami League Joint Secretary Principal Manjurul Alam, upazila Parishad Chairman SM Rakibul Ahsan, Awami League Secretary Bir Muktijodha Abdul Motaleb Talukdar, business representative Didar Uddin Ahmed Masum, lawyer representative Advocate Saidur Rahman, UP Chairman Md. Babul Mia, teacher representative Salma Kabir among others spoke on the function. Later, on the occasion of March 7, the state minister distributed prizes among the winners of the historical speech of March 7 at the secondary level, the role of Bangabandhu in the spread of Islam at the madrasa level and the drawing competition of the father of the nation at the primary level. - Gofran Biswas Palash
