Of the victims, eight were Rohingyas, and two were Bangladeshi nationals.
The victims died in five separate landslides between Wednesday (19 June) midnight and morning, said Osman Gani, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ukhiya Police Station.
The landslides affected Ukhiya Rohingya camps 1, 8, 9, 10 and 14, he added.
The deceased from camp-1 was identified as Putni Begum, 34, daughter of Sultan Ahmad of F-5 Block, while 4-year-old Md Harez was killed in the landslide at block B-82 under camp no 8, reports UNB.
The victims from camp-9 were Md Hossain Ahmed, 50, and Anwara Begum, 18 and 3-year-old Md Salman. And the victims from camp no 10 were identified as Abu Meher, 25, Shahana 22, Abul Kalam, 50 and Selima Khatun, 45.
Besides, 12-year-old Abdul Karim, son of Shah Alam from Ukhiya's Thaingkhali area, died in camp no 14.
The two Bangladeshis were Hossain Ahmed from Chattogram's Satkania, who died in camp-9 and Abdul Karim, who lived beside Ukhiya Rohingya camp-14.
Fire service personnel and police are conducting rescue operations with the help of locals, added the OC.
