Two killed by lightning in Mymensingh

Two persons, including a child were killed in separate lightning strikes in different areas of Gafargaon and Nandail upazilas of the district today.


The deceased were - Sohagh Mia, 32, son of Md Hazarat Ali of Lamkain village of Gafargaon upazila and Saidul Islam, 12, son of Hazarat Ali of Kamalpur village of Nandail upazila.

According to locals, Sohagh was struck by lightning while working in char area of Brahmaputra river. He died on the spot. Two cows were also killed in the incident.

Saidul was struck by lightning while playing in front of their house. He was injured critically. Later, his family members rushed him at Nandail Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctors declared him dead, reports UNB.
