Farmer killed in Bogura lightning strike

A farmer was killed in lightning strike at Ramchandrapur village under Shajahanpur upazila of the district today.


The deceased was identified as Babla, 50, son of late Akbar Ali of the same village.

Lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Babla around 12.15 pm when he was cutting grass in a field near his house, said Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station, reports BSS. 

Later, locals rescued and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
