Two killed in Rajbari lightning strike

Two people, including a woman, were killed in a lightning strike at Hasbapur village under Pangsha upazila of the district on Saturday evening.


The deceased were identified as Anwara Begum, 40, wife of Nazim Uddin, and Tamim, 14, son of Arif Mollah - both residents of the same village.

Locals said they were struck by lightning while washing jute fiber in the water of Kacharipara Beel.

Anwara and Tamim were taken to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead, reports BSS. 

Pangsha Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Ibadat Hossain confirmed the matter.
