
Six more children have died with suspected measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, according to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services control room on Monday (May 11).
The health authorities said that a total of 350 people have died with suspected measles since March 15 to May 11. However, no confirmed measles-related death was reported in the last 24 hours.
During the same 24-hour period, 1,341 new suspected measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 50,500 over the March 15–May 11 period.
Confirmed measles cases stood at 118 in the last 24 hours, while the total number of confirmed cases has reached 6,937 since March 15.
The report also said that 35,980 patients with suspected measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals during this period, while 31,992 patients have recovered and been discharged.
