4 more children die with measles symptoms

Four more children died with suspected measles symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from measles-related illness to 922.


According to a press release of Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today, no one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, but four children died from suspected measles. 

Since March 15, a total of 99 people have died from confirmed measles and 823 children from suspected measles, taking the overall death toll from measles-related illness to 922.

In the past 24 hours, 87 new confirmed measles cases were detected. At the same time, 1,018 new suspected measles cases were identified.

According to DGHS data, 145,711 suspected measles patients have been reported since March 15. During the same period, 18,076 confirmed measles cases have been detected, reports BSS.
