Dengue: Year’s death toll nears 100 as 4 more die

Four people died of dengue, and 1,163 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Monday.


With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has reached 97 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka North City Corporation, and Mymensingh division, it said.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 35,846 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, reports UNB.

Of them, 33,205 have been discharged after recovery.
