Dengue : 5 more die; 1,324 new hospitalized in 24hrs
Health officials today said they recorded 1,324 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least five persons in the past 24 hours.
"During the period, (of the 1,324) 121 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 139 in Chattogram division, 298 in Dhaka division, 138 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 142 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 246 in Khulna division, 87 in Mymensingh division, 114 in Rajshahi division, 34 in Rangpur division and five in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 102 deaths while the disease inflicted 37,170.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024, reports BSS.
