Dengue: 2 more die; 790 new hospitalized in 24 hours
Health officials today said they recorded 790 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours.
"During the period, (of the 790) 18 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 196 in Chattogram division, 249 in Dhaka division, 61 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 62 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 60 in Khulna division, 73 in Mymensingh division, 33 in Rajshahi division and 38 in Rangpur division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 141 deaths while the disease inflicted 49,220.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country, reports UNB.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
