Dengue claims 7 more lives, 1,753 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Seven more people died of dengue and 1,753 new patients were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours until 8 am on Wednesday.

With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 171 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the deaths, three were reported in Khulna division while one each in Chattogram, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, it said.

Currently, 4,166 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 56,916 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 52,579 have recovered.
