Dhaka, Sept 13 :  With Bangladesh trying to get back to the normal life reopening of educational institutions, Covid claimed 41 more lives and infected 1,953 more in 24 hours till Monday morning.

The new cases were detected after testing 25,3888 samples, slightly pushing up the daily case positivity rate to 7.69% from Sunday’s 7.46%, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The fresh numbers took the country’s total fatalities to 26,972 while the cases reached 15,32,366, the DGHS said.

Besides, the recovery rate rose to 96.77% with the recovery of 4,112 more people.

Meanwhile, the case fatality rate remained unchanged at 1.76 per cent compared to the corresponding period.

The country has been seeing 53 deaths and 2,279 cases on average for the last seven days.
