Covid kills 7 more in BD as positivity rate exceeds 2%

Bangladesh reported Covid’s 2.20 per cent daily-case positivity rate in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.







 Dhaka, Oct 19 :  Bangladesh reported Covid’s 2.20 per cent daily-case positivity rate in 24 hours till Tuesday morning after logging it bellow 2 per cent for three consecutive days.

The virus claimed seven more lives in the country and infected 469 more during the period as the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported on Tuesday.

The fresh numbers pushed the total fatality to 27,785 while the caseload climbed to 1,566,296.

The new cases were detected after testing 21,308 samples during the 24-hour period.

Of the latest deceased, five were men and two were women.

However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent compared to the same period.

Besides, the recovery rate rose slightly to 97.62 per cent, with 697 more patients getting cured during the period.

So far, 1,529,068 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added, reports UNB.
