2 more die from Dengue, 50 new patients hospitalized

Bangladesh reported two more deaths from dengue while 50 new patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till Sunday morning.



Dhaka, Dec 19 :  Bangladesh reported two more deaths from dengue while 50 new patients were hospitalised with the fever in 24 hours till Sunday morning, health authorities said.

With the latest deaths, fatalities from Dengue rose to 103 in the country so far this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

It said 93 people died in Dhaka division alone, four in Mymensingh, two each in Chattogram, and Khulna and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.

Eighteen patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 32 cases have been reported from outside the division.

Some 155 patients who were diagnosed with Dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Sunday.

Of them, 101are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 54 were listed outside Dhaka.

Since January, some 28,177 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with Dengue in the country. So far, 27,919 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, said the DGHS, reports UNB.
