Dengue: 11 more patients hospitalised in 24 hrs

Eleven more dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till Sunday morning.



Dhaka, Jan 2 :  Eleven more dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till Sunday morning with no new death reported, health authorities said.

Dengue fever has claimed 105 lives so far since January last year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

It said 95 people died in Dhaka division alone, four in Mymensingh, two each in Chattogram, and Khulna and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.

Among the new patients, seven are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining four cases have been reported from outside the division.

Some 64 patients who were diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Sunday.

Of them, 32 are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 32 were listed outside Dhaka.

So far, some 15 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with Dengue in the country and 49 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery so far, said the DGHS, reports UNB.
