In the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday morning, 20 new cases of dengue fever have been reported, raising the total number of cases to 1,997 for the year.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) outlined the distribution of new cases across the country:
10 cases in Barishal Division (outside City Corporation)
4 cases in Chattogram Division (outside City Corporation)
4 cases in Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation)
1 case each in Dhaka North and South City Corporations
As of now, the number of dengue-related deaths remains at 14, with no new fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, according to the DGHS.
Dengue Claims Another Life, 10 Hospitalized in 24 Hours
Currently, 94 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals nationwide. While the situation remains concerning, no new deaths have been recorded in the last day.
The country faced a severe outbreak last year, with dengue claiming the lives of 575 individuals. In total, there were 101,214 reported cases, with 100,040 recoveries, according to the DGHS.
Health officials continue to urge the public to take preventive measures, including eliminating mosquito breeding sites, as the threat of further spread remains significant.
