Dengue: Two more die, 394 new hospitalized in 24hrs

Two dengue patients died and 394 were hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.


"During the period, 108 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, while 81 were reported in Chattogram division, 48 in Dhaka division, 34 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 48 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 34 in Khulna division, 31 in Rajshahi and 10 patients were hospitalized in the different hospitals in Rangpur division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 19,923 while 78 deaths from dengue the mosquito-borne disease were reported this year.

During the last 24 hours, 364 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after receiving treatment, reports BSS. 

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
