New 190 dengue cases reported in 24 hours

Health officials today said they recorded 190 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours in the country.


"During the period, (of the 190) 40 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division", a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

It said among the rests, 50 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, 27 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 42 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 21 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, seven in Khulna and three were hospitalized in Mymensingh division.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 95 deaths while the disease inflicted 23,410, reports BSS. 

The DGHS, however, said 199 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after their recovery.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
