41 dengue patients hospitalized in 24 hrs

41 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.


However, no deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported during this period, said the DGHS press release.

Meanwhile, 30 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals during this period. With this, a total of 1,715 patients have been released from hospitals so far in 2026.

So far this year, a total of 1,793 people have been infected with dengue, of which 62.7 percent are male and 37.3 percent are female.

A total of four people have died from dengue so far this year.

From January 1 to December 31, 2025, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue and 413 people died from the disease, reports BSS. 

In 2024, the country recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths from the disease.
