
Family robbed of gold ornaments in Kalapara on Saturday night
Patuakhali: A group of miscreants robbed two lakh taka in cash, three lakh taka in gold ornaments and three Android mobile sets after spraying the entire family members with anesthetic in Kalapara, Patuakhali.
The incident took place late on Saturday night at the house of Alam Khan in Neyamatpur village of Nilganj union of the upazila. Relatives admitted the victims Md. Alam Khan (51), Aisha Bibi (75), Mashuma Begum (45), Md. Rasel, (30) and Hafsa Begum (25) to Kalapara Hospital. Currently, the three have returned home after receiving primary treatment, but Aisha Bibi and Mashuma Begum have not regained consciousness yet.
The victim Alam Khan said that he is in the business of buying and selling rice. Everyone fell asleep after eating dinner as usual. No one woke up until late in the morning. At one point, other members of the house tried to break the door of the room by knocking. They woke up after hearing the sound. But they felt very weak physically. They saw the furniture in the room in a mess.
Victim Alam Khan's younger brother Bajlu Khan said, in the morning, we got the news of the theft and went to the elder brother's house. When we got there, we found everyone unconscious. The cupboards of the house were broken and the things were lying in a mess. Later, we rescued them and admitted them to Kalapara Hospital.
Kalapara Police Station OC Md. Nazrul Islam said, after receiving the news, we sent the police to the spot. We have not received any written complaint in this regard yet. Necessary action will be taken if we receive a complaint. - Gofran Palash
