Power supply to remain suspended in parts of Sylhet Monday

Sylhet, Sept 28 — Electricity supply will remain suspended for eight hours in several areas of Sylhet’s Jaintiapur and Gowainghat upazilas on Monday to facilitate urgent repair and development work.

Power connections in the affected areas will remain disconnected from 9:00am to 5:00pm, the Power Development Board (PDB) authorities in Jaintiapur said on Sunday.

Jaintiapur Resident Engineer Shahedur Rahman said the suspension is necessary to facilitate road development work and the splitting of the 11kV Jaflong feeder.

As a result, power supply will remain suspended in areas stretching from Alubagan to Mama Bazar, he said.

PDB officials said electricity supply would be restored soon after work completion.

The authorities expressed regret to consumers for the temporary inconvenience caused by the power outage. - UNB
