Prisoner dies in Kashimpur Jail

A prisoner died in Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Thursday.



A prisoner died in Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Thursday (January 26) morning.
The death of death-row convict Nazrul Islam, 30, son of Sohrab Uddin hailing from Kishoreganj, was confirmed by jail authority.
Senior Superintendent of Kashimpur High Security Jail Subrata Kumar Bala said Nazrul Islam was taken to the jail hospital when he suddenly fell sick inside the jail at around 9am. However, he was later sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated and he breathed his last there around 9:40 am today.
He said his body will be handed over to the relatives after legal procedures.
