Unidentified miscreants shot dead a former Awami League leader in Shiromoji area of Khulna city Friday afternoon .



Unidentified miscreants shot dead a former Awami League leader in Shiromoji area of Khulna city Friday afternoon (March 24).

The deceased was identified as Sheikh Ansar Ali, former cultural secretary of Khulna's Digholia upazila unit AL. He was also the general secretary of a local market.

Khanjahan Ali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Kamal Hossain Khan said the victim was returning home after Jummah prayer around 2:00pm. Meanwhile, the miscreants opened fire aiming leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
