A torpedo used in was floats to Patuakhali canal

Patuakhali, Apr 28 ---A torpedo-like object has been spotted floating in a canal at Moudubi of Rangabali upazila in Patuakhali.

Locals spotted the object in the Bhangar canal near Jahajmara beach on Sunday morning (April 28).

According to police and local sources, the object entered the Bhangar canal from the Bay of Bengal through Ravanabad channel.

Police reached the spot after being informed by locals.

Rangabali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Helal Uddin said police were sent to the spot and the Coast Guard was informed about the thing.

The contingent commander of the Coast Guard Rangabali Outpost, Abul Kalam Azad said, "Our team in the Andharmanik River is going to the spot. From what I could see, it could have been a torpedo, not a missile. "

"Torpedoes are very heavy. It usually operates under water. Since it has come up to the surface, I think it has been used or damaged. However, if there is any air inside, there is a possibility of an explosion. That's why the bomb disposal unit may go and check it. Action will be taken based on the report of our team that is going to assess it," he added. - UNB
