56-year-old woman electrocuted in Lalmonirhat



Lalmonirhat, June 20 - A woman died after being electrocuted in Lalmonirhat's Aditmari upazila on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 1pm in the Durgapur area of the upazila.

The deceased, Rowshan Ara, 56, was the wife of Azizur Rahman from the area.

According to local sources, Rowshan was electrocuted while connecting a battery-powered auto-rickshaw to a power outlet, due to a fault in the line.

She was rescued by locals and taken to Aditmari Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared her dead.

Rafiqul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Aditmari Police Station confirmed the matter.

He said, no complaint or case has been filed by the victim's family yet, but preparations are underway to file an unnatural death case.-UNB
