Twin brothers drown in Naogaon pond
Naogaon, July 08 - Twin brothers drowned in a pond in West Chakh Bhabani village of Khelna Union of Dhamoirhat Upazila in Naogaon.
The deceased children were 3 years old Laxman and Ram, twin children of Sujeet Oraon of the village.
Khelna Union Parishad Chairman Md. Al Hil Mahmud Chowdhury confirmed the incident.
Local UP member Abu Salam said, the two boys drowned on Sunday while playing near the pond in front of their house.
After a frantic search, locals found their bodies floating in the water. The untimely death of the twins cast a pall of grief over their family and the entire community.
Md. Bahuddin Farooqi, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhamoirhat Police Station, said police went to the spot after receiving the information.
As there were no complaints from the family, the children's bodies were handed over to their relatives for funeral and an Unnatural Death (UD) case was filed at Dhamoirhat police station, he added.-UNB
