BGB seizes 20,000 yaba tablets in Bandarban

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 20,000 pieces of yaba tablets during a special anti-narcotics operation in Naikhongchhari upazila of the district.


Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) also seized a CNG auto-rickshaw used for transporting the drugs, two mobile phones and cash during the operation.

According to BGB sources, a special patrol team from Chakdhala Border Outpost (BOP), acting on a tip-off, carried out the raid on Wednesday afternoon in Chakdhala Bazar area and intercepted a CNG auto-rickshaw travelling from Chakdhala to Naikhongchhari.

During the drive, the BGB team arrested drug peddlers Md. Nurul Hashem, 35, and Md. Hasan Ali, 20, with the yaba tablets both are hailed from Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar district.

Commanding Officer of the Cox's Bazar Battalion (BGB-34) Lieutenant Colonel S.M. Khairul Alam confirmed the matter, reports BSS.
