According to Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, Yunus gave his preliminary approval for the UAE to set up the EPZ in Bangladesh. He emphasized that the involvement of UAE’s major companies would bring significant job opportunities to the country.
During the meeting, Prof. Yunus also encouraged the UAE to consider relocating its factories to Bangladesh to further boost economic growth.
Prof. Yunus, who participated in various sessions at the summit, also met with UAE Minister of Health Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais on the sidelines. Additionally, Yunus engaged with Bangladeshi expatriates in Dubai, addressing issues related to visas, labor, and challenges faced by the community.
The Chief Adviser also took part in an interactive plenary session at the World Government Summit. Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder was present at the press briefing.
