Dhaka grieves slain 2nd grader Ramisa Aktar

Slain Ramisa Aktar 8, a grade II student of Mirpur Pupular Model School.

The flower-like Ramisa Aktar, second grade student of a school in Mirpur fell to the greed of Sohel Rana who reportedly violated, killed and decapitated the 8-year old on Tuesday is grieved by the people of Pallabi, Mirpur.

Police said, a tenant, Sohel Rana lured the child into his room after she left her flat in the morning. He then allegedly raped and killed her. Ramisa's body was found under a bed and her severed head in a bucket in a bath room. 

Ramisa’s father, a broken Abdul Hannan Molla, went to his daughter's school - Mirpur Popular Model School - sat at her seat in the class and called all her classmates his daughters. School teachers put a bunch of red roses on her seat as her classmates wept and later went to her residence and staged a protest demanding punishment of the perpetrater of the crime. 

I want nothing. Only ensure justice is done and the culprit is punished. A woman relative of Ramisa demanded of the government to hand over the murderer to them and they will avenge the killing. He mother only murmured my Ramisa was a sinless girl. We want justice. 

Her father said to a journalist, he had heard the final sounds of Ramisa's voice, and thought some other girl was calling frantically. It did not occur to his mind it was Ramisa who needed help to survive.

Only five minutes before the fateful disappearance, rape and killing her father Abdul Hannan Molla had stopped her from coming out of the steel-gate as she had wanted to accompany her elder daughter Raisa early in the morning. 

The fateful murder came to light a day later. Police has arrested Sohel Rana along with his wife. He has reportedly given a confessional statement. People of Pallabi area staged demonstration protesting the rape and murder and demanding exemplary punishment to the perpetrator. Demonstrators pelted stoned at Mtero Rail trains which stopped touching the Mirpur 11 station from late afternoon to the evening on Thursday.
