Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal today said if political forces won’t context in the elections, evil forces can mount up.

“Political parties will have to stay in the election field to resist evil forces,” he told a dialogue with Gono Forum as part of its ongoing talks with political parties at Agargaon Nirbachan Bhaban here.

The CEC hoped that the next nationals polls would be held in a peace , fair, neutral and participatory manner.

Awal said the Election Commission (EC) would make its best efforts to facilitate the voters in exercising their franchise independently and smoothly.

“We seek your (parties) support. If you stay in the political field along with us, it will be easier to resist any evil forces,” he said.

The EC has been holding dialogue with political parties since July 17. In continuation of that, it held talks with two other parties—Bangladesh National Awami Party and Tariqat Federation apart from Gono Forum.

An 11-member delegation of Gono Forum led by its executive member Mokabbir Khan joined the dialogue.

Apart from the CEC, four election commissioners and EC officials also attended it, reports BSS.
