EC Bans Motorcycles for Three Days Ahead of Feb 12 Polls

The Election Commission (EC) has announced a three-day ban on motorcycle movement ahead of the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum scheduled for February 12.

In addition, the movement of several other vehicles—including trucks, microbuses and taxicabs—will be restricted for 24 hours on polling day as part of measures to maintain law and order.

The directive was issued on Tuesday when EC Deputy Secretary Mohammad Manir Hossain sent an official letter to the road transport secretary, instructing the authorities to ensure strict enforcement of the restrictions.
