The High Court Division has released the full verdict that declared illegal the government circular issued in 2018 abolishing the freedom fighter quota in first and second-class government jobs.

The full text verdict was published on the Supreme Court website on Sunday.

The High Court bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order. It was published on the Supreme Court website after the two judges signed the judgment. Although the Appellate Division has issued a one-month stay on this order.

After the publication of the verdict, the Deputy Attorney General Sheikh Md. Saifuzzaman said that on July 10, the Appellate Division ordered to maintain the status quo regarding the quota.

The Appellate Division has fixed the date of hearing on August 7. As a result, the judgment of the High Court will not be effective for now. - UNB
