Hasina’s ex energy adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi arrested

Elahi was arrested at 9:45 pm Tuesday from Gulshan



Dhaka, Sept 11 - Former Energy Advisor to Sheikh Hasina, Tawfiq-e-Elahi, was arrested on Tuesday night (September 10) from Gulshan area in the capital.

Rezaul Karim Mallik, Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB), confirmed the arrest to UNB.

According to Mallik, Tawfiq-e-Elahi was detained around 9:45 PM at Gulshan. He stated that there are multiple cases against Tawfiq-e-Elahi, but it will be disclosed later under which specific case he has been arrested.

Elahi is currently at the DB office, and legal proceedings against him are going on, as informed by the Additional Commissioner of DB.
