A Dhaka family court on Sunday fixed January 29, for giving its verdict regarding who would be custodian of two Japanese children of   estranged couple Imran Sharif, Bangladesh born US citizen and Japanese citizen Eriko Nakano.

On Sunday Dhaka’s family court fixed the day for passing its judgment over the custody of two children of   estranged couple Imran and Nakano.

After hearing arguments of the two sides, the family court of Judge Durrana Rahman set the date.

The High Court Division on August 3, 2021, had ordered Sharif Imran and Nakano Eriko to live at a Gulshan flat together for 15 days with their two daughters.

It also had asked Department of Social Services to look into  the matter and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner to ensure the safety of the family.

The court issued the order as the estranged couple failed to reach consensus on where and with whom their two daughters Makano Jasmine Malika, 11, and Makano Laila Lina, 9, will live.

On February 13, 2022, the court said, until the disposal of the case by the family court, the two children will remain in the custody of their mother and that their father can meet them.

After 12 years of marriage, on January 18, 2022, Erico, a physician, filed for divorce from engineer Imran over marital dispute.
