Bangladesh’s first surfing film ‘No Dorai’ faced an obstruction regarding the permission for its release from Bangladesh Film Censor Board. Censor Board claimed that the film contains some obscene dialogues and words from Chittagonian dialect, which may appear as disturbing to the audiences from other regions of the country. There was a doubt whether the film would be released in due time or not. Overthrowing all doubts and confusions, the film has got censor certificate after certain alteration made on those objectionable dialogues and will hit the theatres on its scheduled release date November 29.
Directed by young filmmaker Tanim Rahman Angshu and produced by the chairman of Star Cineplex Mahboob Rahman, ‘No Dorai’ is made in Chittagonian dialect. The story of it sheds light on the life of girl named Ayesha, who outbraves the social norms to pursue her dream of being a successful surfer. Sunerah Binte Kamal as Ayesha and Sariful Raaz as Sohel have featured the lead roles. Other starrers of the film are- Josefine Lindegaard, Sayed Babu, Tommy Hindley, Lenka Marie, Pedro Principe, Hindol Roy, Thakur Proshad, Wasim Sitar, Azaz Bari, Kankan Das and Nasir Uddin Khan.
Popular Bangladeshi singer Xefer Rahman is the executive producer while the cinematographer of the film is Suman Sarker. The story of ‘No Dorai’ has been written by Shymol Sengupta. Trailer of the film has already been released on the official YouTube channel of Star Cineplex.
